Easy connection to Javea and Denia with the AVE from Madrid.

Certain AVE trains per day from Madrid to Valencia will connect with a bus that will take passengers to Javea and Denia immediately afterwards.


When booking, put in your Javea or Denia destination from Madrid and you will see which ones offer a combination AVE/ bus ticket from Madrid.

The AVE (Alta Velocidad Espanola) train offers the opportunity to travel across long distances in Spain at high speed. In a country as large as Spain that has so much to offer, it is a great option if you are a tourist and you want to see as much of the country as possible without spending too much time traveling. The high velocity train from Valencia to Madrid takes just over an hour and a half.

The high speed train line that runs from Valencia to Madrid takes 1 hour 35 minutes. It offers you the opportunity to travel hundreds of kilometers at the highest possible train speed that is available in Spain. The AVE train system is run by Renfe - Spain's national and international train company. This means that you will be using the Renfe website www.renfe.com when you need to find out timetable and ticketing information about the high velocity train.

In terms of luggage, you will find that the allowance on the AVE trains is quite generous. You will be allowed up to three pieces of hand luggage each, with a total limit of twenty kilograms

In terms of the trains themselves, they are comfortable with services including a cafeteria , music on individual systems for each passenger (earphones are provided), films screened in each carriage.

Denia Capital of the Marina Alta



The Spanish town of Denia is located north east of the city of Alicante and is the capital of the area of Marina Alta on the Costa Blanca.





With around 44,000 inhabitants Denia is a town that mainly lives on tourism. But Denia is not only a wonderful and lovely place for a fantastic Holiday, it is also the main port to the Balearic Islands on the Costa Blanca. It has a direct ferry connection to Mallorca and Ibiza

Denia Spain is not only a town with beautiful holiday weather all year round, but also offers a fascinating history and many activities for an unforgettable holiday.


Denia consist of the main central town that reaches from the foot of the mountain Montgo to the Port and along the beach. Many of the surrounding small villages are part of Denia.
Further up the coast towards Valencia the town disperses into arrangements of little communities of Bungalows, Apartments and Villas.


A road that leads over the mountain connects Denia with the town of Javea.
Although Denia has been growing continuously over the past couple of years it has not lost anything of the charm of a little fisherman’s town. 

Weather in Denia

Some of the biggest and most spectacular Fiestas include:


  • The Fallas in the middle of March where huge constructions or Figures that are burnt down, to banish the spirits of the winter and welcome the spring.
  • The Fiesta de San Juan (Saint John Bonfires) in June. Where people gather around the beach and make bonfires from old furniture and jump over the bonfire.
  • The Moros y Christanos in August (Moors and Christians). These festival activities and parades commemorate the battles, combats and fights between Moors (or Muslims) and Christians during the period known as Reconquista (from the 8th century through the 15th century).





During a stay in Denia you will have so many activities to choose from, that you will not find the time to do everything.
Some of these activities are:




  • Go snorkeling or scuba diving at the las rotas beach. There are many diving schools that do will guide you and show you the best places.
  • Enjoy a magical dinner in one of the best restaurants in Spain and even the world.
  • Visit the Castle “Castillo de Denia” which has been turned into a museum.
  • Do a wonderful nature walk through the natural reserve at the Montgo.

  • Do an excursion with the ferry that takes you along the coast up to Altea.
  • Rent a bicycle and take a tour on the bicycle drive way that leads you from Denia through the orange fields to a little town called La Xara.

Industry
Beside the strong tourism industry, Denia´s other main industries are fishing and Real Estates.

BICYCLE TOUR IN DENIA.


The Bicycle is a very popular and common form of transport at the Costa Blanca. It s not only cost effective and better for your Health but it is also the more relaxing way to move within the Towns.

Denia offers routes and bicycle lanes for all sorts of bikers. If you are just looking to move through town and enjoy the sea view or the beautiful weather or if you want to ride a bit further to the small town Els Poblets and drive right through the countryside. There are also many routes for the more professional bikers in Denia.

If you would like to take a tour or move around on the bike and didn´t take one with you (because it didn´t fit into you hand luggage) there are plenty of shops that rent their bikes out for the day, the week or even just a couple of hours. You will find these shops distributed throughout Denia.

Denia´s Town Hall has also started a public bike rentals system, where you can just take a bike at one station and drop it of at another. The payment runs completely via your card that you can get at any of the stations. Although this system was not established for tourists, it is still a very useful and quick way to get through town.
